Assalamualaikum..  Salam Maulidur Rasul..

Syoknyeee awal2 tahun da banyak cuti.. so adela mase nak “berblogging”..

Hehe.. so today lets continue with my reception’s invitation card!

I wish I could do the overall design by myself but I do not have so much time. So, I sketched the logo, prepared the text/content of the card but my dad helps me do the map sketched. Then, my sis help me to arrange the content/layout before send the drafts to my friend Kamarul owner of Kertas Cinta.

He finalized the design and print for me together with the bunting & “tanda arah”. Alhamdulillah I’m very satisfied as the outcome very nice and delivery on time. I also did recommend him to my friends and most of them also satisfied with his services!

Why Ai? I’m sure everyone guesses it’s our name Anis & Ikmal. Yup it’s true but indirectly “Ài” also means love in mandarin. “Ai” in Japanese also means love.

Wǒ ài nǐ  / Aishiteru

As for hand bouquet it is a trend now not using fresh flowers. Of course using fresh flowers looks classier and nice but artificial hand bouquet can be use again thus it is cost saving.

Thus, I bought this pearl & crystal hand bouquet.

(If anyone interested to rent, do let me know RM50 per event)

Actually I choose white & silver so it will match with any dress so I could use not just during my solemnization but also reception. However my colleague, Hana was so kind and lends me her button hand bouquet that she used during her solemnization.  Alhamdulillah it was nice and matched with my solemnizations dress.

Solemnization & Reception Dress

Like others I actually having trouble to decide whether I want to rent my Solemnization & Reception dress or make a new one. So I did survey few again online (for design / style - first thing to know is which style suiting my body type & price) and we also went to some of the boutiques at Shah Alam.

This is my notes on the dress style that suits me.

One thing that confirmed was I want to wear light gold on my solemnization & gold on my reception.

Even it is sunnah to wear white during nikah, I still did not wear white because I have tried the white kurung moden and it is a bit “jarang” thus, I’m not confident and comfortable to wear white.

I also actually did not prefer to wear kurung moden simply because:

1.       My solemnization will be held at Masjid thus I do not want to wear something that shows my body curve.
2.       I wish to wear it again during others function (afraid that if I might gain weight later I could not fit the kurung moden) :P

After survey few places I decided to make new one but of course with a reasonable price. I already set a target that I want to spend more on my reception dress than my solemnization. I want something simple during nikah but more elegance during reception.

So, I decided to wear princess cut dress for my solemnization day and the price if plain without any beads or laces I can get it below RM200 (2013 price).

At first I’m thinking I just want to wear it plain then I changed my mind since I would like to wear it again in others functions (raya/etc) I decided to add a bit of lace & beads. I did not learned fashion designs or whatsoever but I just simply sketched where the lace and beads placement as I preferred.

this is my sketch :P

For my reception’s dress I went to Mawaddah Boutique at Shah Alam where my Master’s classmate worked.  He learned fashioned design and I feel more confident and secured to make my dress with someone I know (if dengan orang x kenal takut gak x siap or tah pape jadinye.. huhu.. :P) so I just proceed with him. Alhamdulillah I’m very satisfied with the outcome and his services.

Whoever interested to rent this dress , do let me know.

#aigoldenday - Prep 03

Assalamualaikum..

This time I think I would like to share about my chosen MUA!

MUA

As usual I Google!

I’m looking MUA from Kota Damansara or Shah Alam area only and I set my budget, if possible I want below RM500 per session but of course must be nicelaa..

I did come across some below RM300 per session but from their portfolio it’s not my style and not so nice (in my opinionla.. for you, you might like). Then some good & famous MUA based in Shah Alam can reach RM1000 per session which is already out of my budget.

Thus, I decided to try Kak Lin’s service. Natural Beauty MakeUp by Lin Elier

The best part working with her was she asked me my skin type & make-up style preferences first then will also suggest which one is suitable for me.

So I told her I like make-up yang sweet & natural, model look :P with images provides as below:

This is actually Korean Wedding Make-up Style!

Then, I set an appointment for a trial because to make sure if my skin is not allergic to those cosmetics and see the results of her touch as well ;)

Below are the combined pics of the trial and her comments:

p/s: left & right side of my face the make-up were applied differently during this trial.

"After studying the pics, here are some of the things I would like to highlight:

1) Yr best feature is yr eyes, you have beautiful eyes, therefore it is best to highlight your best feature. Which means paler pink or peach lipstick is more suitable so that it'll draw attention to yr eyes better. Darker lips may not be suitable for you, and may result in looking much more mature/older.
2) Your undereye is very dry. I will need to apply more creamier concealer, and silicon fillers so that it'll reduce creasing. But it is best that you start using a good anti wrinkle eye cream as soon as possible."

I love the 1st left looked so much and decided to proceed with Kak Lin.

Here are my looked taken from Kak Lin’s blog:

natural makeup on my solemnization day

"Here is Anis, on her reception day in Bukit Jelutong. She has beautiful eyes, hence we accentuate it more with eyeliner, and keep everything else, understated." - Kak Lin.

"classic lavender makeup, complementing her classic songket outfit." - Kak Lin.

Yup I actually hired her for all 3 sessions! hehe..

#aigoldenday - Prep 02

Assalamualaikum.. This post is continuing from previous entry.

Solemnization’s Date & Location

As for our Solemnization’s date we had choose 9.11.2013 and the venue was Masjid Sultan Salahudin Abdul Aziz Shah, Shah Alam.
Why Masjid Shah Alam?

1-      To save cost (no need pelamin, etc)
2-      To avoid our house became messy ( less work & save our energy & time too)

Syukur Alhamdulillah the deco in the hall itself was nice and decoration is matching with our theme (golden Minimalist).

Reception’s Date & Location

As for our Reception’s date we had choose 10.11.2013 and the venue was Dewan Guthrie, Bukit Jelutong.
When I attended my friend's wedding back in Sept 2012 I already like this hall then I suggested to my cousin and she had held her wedding here too.

This is the hall pic taken from official photographer's Fb page that my cousin's had hired previously.

Pelamin & Deco

As I mentioned in previous post I had surveys for all I need mostly online. That’s how I came across this pelamin picture at FB and immediately decided to do something like this. I just print out this image and send this link to my dad and he helps me to see the vendor and do the booking.

Alhamdulillah it turns out very nice on that day itself! The price very reasonable because usually less than 2K was hardly get these day for a hall rate (this is 2013 price ya).. but the looked were minimalist yet elegance & grand.  It suits my theme, style & taste!

Caterer

For catering services I leave it to my aunt & parents to manage. Since most of our family events (my cousin’s wedding, aqiqah, etc) we used to hired Azrad Catering Services
and we are very satisfied with their services. The food always delicious! The best thing that I love the most during my reception, was the deco.. It was really surprised me!

To see images from my own wedding stay tune ya..   I’m still waiting official photo from the photographer but if you can’t wait you may browse in Instagram #aigoldenday ;)

See you in next entry! Have a nice day!

#aigoldenday - Prep 01

Assalamualaikum.. Wow! it's been more than a year..  My last post was on August 22, 2012.

Happy New Year everyone!!!

I've been very busy with my work & assignments but Alhamdulillah 2013 will be the most memorable year in my life as 3 big events occur in my life!

Guess what?

31.03.2013 – I’ve been proposed!

9.11.2013 – My solemnization & Master’s convocation day!

Alhamdulillah.. mostly everything went well as we planned! It’s been hectic but enjoyable moments!

I would like to thanks to my families especially both my parents, sister, aunts & uncles, cousins and not to forget my friends who have been there for me. Whose help me from the preparations, spend their time and money (sponsored us) until the big day itself.

Thanks to all who came especially to those come all along from Perak, Melaka, Johor and others. Thanks you very much for your time and all the gifts J

I think it is normal after the events, there will be few friends asking for contacts (dress, etc). Thus, in this entry I would like to share with all of my friends especially bride-to-be how was the preparations going on within 7 months only (quite a limited time right?) and within our budget (since in Islam we also need to be moderate).

I have prepared a Master checklist. What to be in the list? What to do, buy or booked? I am also not sure thus, I Google it and downloaded it from this blog:

But no need to follow everything in the list I customized it according to my needs!
Below are the lists of thing that is important and according to our budget:

1.       Solemnization’s & Reception’s Date & Location & Theme
2.       Solemnization’s Procedure (borang2, HIV test, etc)
3.       Pelamin & Deco
4.       Caterer
5.       MUA
6.       Solemnization & Reception Dress
7.       Invitation Card
8.       Hantaran (DIY)
9.       Rings
10.   Hand Bouquet
11.   Door Gifts
12.   Photographer & Videographer
13.   Pengapit
14.   Inai (optional)

Things that currently "in trend" and I feel not important plus will only waste our money are:

1.       Flower girls & dayang2
2.       Pre-wed Photo (not recommended for Muslim)
3.       Photo booth
4.       Candy buffet
5.       Fresh flowers deco for the whole hall

After I have been proposed first thing to do of course to set the solemnizations & receptions date. So, we checked the mosque & hall’s available date first & blocked the date. Once both sides agreed, we move to next step.

Then, almost every day when I’m free I will survey for MUA & make-up style, Pelamin, wedding dress design, etc via  fb/google/insta/pinterest and others mostly ONLINE! (Save time & money :D)

So what's my theme? I have chosen Golden Minimalist as my wedding theme!
It's our golden moments on a golden day and minimalist has been my favourite style.

To elaborate more on my chosen theme, vendor & style stay tune for next entry!
